up-sKILLing is KILLING

You haven't passed the CPT.
You are not up to the standard for ELT.
You didn't do well in your APTIS.

Yaaa yaaa yaaaaa... Whatever~

You may come out with a list of reasonsss but still, all are considered as REASON. A reason is still a reason to cause something to happen. And what on earth am I talking about....?

I think it's better for me to further my study rather than involving with this up-skilling things. Seriously, the program is killing me inside out.

Pah, my dear friend, if you happen to read this, believe me, you are lucky and I am trapped.. [ *___* ]

According to the trainer, we are in the middle level for ELT, which is B1-B2. That's why we have to undergo this up-skilling program for almost a year to upgrade our level to C1-C2 which I personally don't think it is necessary at all. The lowest level is A1-A2. Basically, C1-C2 is near to native speaker.

Now, with this up-skilling course, I have extra works to do. I mean more and more and more and lots more extra work. If you are a teacher, then you will understand the situation. If you are a teacher, but you didn't get my problem, it means that I still have trillion years to be a good teacher because I have a very serious problem to handle tons of works. Am I a problematic teacher?

Next year, I'm going to be a brand new teacher, a near native speaker teacher. Haha.

What do you think will happen if I'm a near native speaker teacher, yet I still could not attract the pupils' attention and interest..... and also fail to control the class???

I'm Alive

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.. Hi there!

There are so many things to share but it's just that not every single thing can be spoken out freely. My dream is to teach baby.........

......... but I ended up with toddler.

There are so many things to learn and so many knowledge to be equipped with. Not to mention to be as patient as possible. As a teacher, patience is a MUST and it is not optional.

I did once, knocked my student's head with a book and I ended up feeling guilty throughout the weekend. Fortunately, it just slightly touch the student's head. Things like this happened when one lose control of oneself. Not to mention, I could not control my anger at that moment and it took away all the patience I held before.

As time flies and day goes by I started to get used with my life as a high school teacher. Either babies or toddlers, the core business is teaching. My life is surrounded by pupils and books.

But then......... to face the reality, teaching matters nowadays involve working papers and office work in which should be done by someone else who is more capable. However, this is what life is about..... and so, the moral values are smiles even if no one is smiling at you and patience is priceless. Till then~

1990s

When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keating

It's amazing
How you can speak
Right to my heart
Without saying a word,
You can light up the dark
Try as I may
I could never explain
What I hear when
You don't say a thing

The smile on your face
Lets me know
That you need me
There's a truth
In your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me
Wherever I fall
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all

All day long
I can hear people
Talking out loud
But when you hold me near
You drown out the crowd
Try as they may
They could never define
What's been said
Between your
Heart and mine

You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all

The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know
That you need me

You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all
You say it best
When you say
Nothing at all

"Teacher, kami tak tahu..."

Place - Form 2 Extravaganza
Time  - After recess

Pupil A : Teacher, kami tak tahu la Bahasa English ni, teacher..

Every pupil looks at the teacher and nods their heads with thousands of expressions on their depressed faces.

Teacher : Correction pupils. It's either Bahasa Inggeris or English only. It's not Bahasa English, okay?

The pupils nod again.

Pupil B : Teacher, susah la English ni teacher..

Pupil C : Ha'a teacher, susah la..

Pupil D : Kami cakap pun tak reti, teacher..

The teacher smiles to her pupils.

Teacher : It's okay pupils. Remember this, everything is difficult before it becomes easy.

The pupils show a straight face, a face that betrays no sign of emotion.

Teacher : Okay, first and foremost, bear in your mind that English is as easy as ABC.

The Pupils : Okay, teacher.

Teacher : Next, do not afraid of making mistakes when you have the intention or opportunity to use the language.

The pupils nod their heads, again, as if they are listening attentively.

Teacher : One important thing which I would like to highlight here.. Bear in your mind, English is important nowadays. It's for you to learn the language and not to replace your mother tongue. Remember, knowledge is power for you to move on and live a better life. It's okay if you make mistakes here and there as you are still learning. In fact, I am still learning too. Learning is an ongoing process you know..

The pupils wrinkle their brow, staring at the teacher as if they are paying extra attention on the hot topic being discussed.

Teacher : Okay pupils, set your mind, "I'm going to learn English as if I'm learning the future,". English is fun to learn, isn't it?

The pupils hardly nod their heads.

Teacher : Okay, please repeat after me, I will learn English with all my heart,

The pupils : I will learn English with all my heart,

Teacher : ... because English is easy.

The pupils : because English is easy.

Then the class is as quiet as a cemetery before the teacher continues her highly motivational speech.

Teacher : Finally, bear in your mind

Suddenly, pupil A raises his right hand and stands straight. He scratches his head and questions the teacher.

Pupil A : Teacher, berapa kali bear nak kena ada dalam kepala?

Moral of the story :

Everything is difficult before it becomes easy.
'Zero' comes before 'Hundred'.
Bear in your mind..

Live and Life

The Wheel of Life

Life isn't just about what we want it to be.
It's about what is happening around us,
what we're going through day by day
and involves the people around us.

At times we might feel tired
but then there's always something to ponder.
For everything that had happened,
there must be a reason
and HE knows best.

Live up our life
based on al-Quran and as-Sunnah.
We'll find life is very exciting
for we know what we're seeking
and we'll live happily ever after
in HIS blessings.

Biiznillah..

The World is Upside Down

The world is upside down
We are the culprit
Perfect enough HE made it
yet we are ruining it
destroying the beauty in it
reversing the spirit
The world is upside down

I Am Who Am I

I'm getting older but not old enough.

I'm getting stronger but not strong enough.

I'm getting wiser but not wise enough.

I. Feel. Betrayed.

Why on earth this is happening to me
Why there is such people
Why I am betrayed....... by her
Why after all this time
After what we've gone through
After years knowing you

And now,
bury the why
make it as a lie
let it hide in the sky

Even I feel so betrayed
even I feel absolutely betrayed
even it hurts so damn much
nothing's going to change the fact
But past is past.......

For things you did wrong
should I thank you
for I become strong.

2 Different Stories

Erm.. 2 different stories from 1 source. One might cheer you up and make you smile ear to ear while another will make you start to ponder on anything.. Is it? Read it yourself then... (",)

Missing Husband

A woman went to police station to file a report for her missing husband.

Woman    : I lost my husband

Inspector : What is his height?

Woman    : I never noticed

Inspector : Slim or healthy?

Woman    : Not slim can be healthy

Inspector : Color of eyes?

Woman    : Never noticed

Inspector : Color of hair?

Woman    : Should be black

Inspector : What was he wearing?

Woman    : I don’t remember exactly

Inspector : Was somebody with him ?????????

Woman    : (Just in one breath...) Yes my Labrador dog (Romeo), tied with a golden chain, height 30 inches, healthy, blue eyes, blackish brown hair, his left foot thumb nail is slightly broken, he never barks, wearing a golden belt studded with blue balls, he likes non-veg food, we eat together, we jog together.

The woman started crying

Inspector : Let’s search for the dog first!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Passbook

Priya married Hitesh on a bright day. At the end of the wedding party, Priya’s mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook with Rs.1000 deposit amount.

Priya's mother said, "Priya, take this passbook.Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there’s something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it’s about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I’ve done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you’ve had."

Priya shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.

This was what they did after certain time:

- 7 Feb    : Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage
- 1 Mar   : Rs.300, salary raise for Priya
- 20 Mar : Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali
- 15 Apr  : Rs.2000, Priya got pregnant
- 1 Jun     : Rs.1000, Hitesh got promoted
…. and so on .…

However, after years, they started fighting and arguing for trivial things. They didn’t talk much. They regretted that they had married the most nasty people in the world…. No more love…

Kind of typical nowadays, huh?

One day Priya talked to her mother, "Mom, we can’t stand it anymore. We agree to divorce. I can’t imagine how I decided to marry this guy!!!"

Priya's mother replied, "Sure, girl, that’s no big deal. Just do whatever you want if you really can’t stand it. But before that, do one thing first. Remember the saving passbook I gave you on your wedding day? Take out all money and spend it first. You shouldn’t keep any record of such a poor marriage."

Priya thought it was true. So she went to the bank, waiting at the queue and planning to cancel the account. While she was waiting, she took a look at the passbook record.

She looked, and looked, and looked.

Then the memory of all the previous joy and happiness just came up her mind. Her eyes were then filled with tears.

She left and went home.

When she was home, she handed the passbook to Hitesh, asked him to spend the money before getting divorce.

The next day, Hitesh gave the passbook back to Priya.

She found a new deposit of Rs.5000 and a line next to the record,

"This is the day I notice how much I’ve loved you thru out all these years. How much happiness you’ve brought to me."

They hugged and cried, putting the passbook back to the safe.

Do you know how much money they had saved when they retired?

I did not ask. I believe the money did not matter any more after they had gone through all the good years in their life.

When you fall, in any way,
Don’t see the place where you fell,
Instead see the place from where you slipped,
for Life is about correcting mistakes..

New Hope

O ya Allah..

It's already year 2011. I really hope I can load myself with beautiful memories. No more anger, no more prejudice and whatsoever. I just need to calm myself in whatever situations, believe in myself, have faith in me, learn from mistakes and learn from others and the most important is, think positive. Think positive, please.. think positive.

What goes around comes around. If I have done my best, then why should I feel sorry for anything. So the point is, I need to strive to improve myself and I have to strive for success. Erm there's a say,

"Kalau kita sentiasa memikirkan masa lalu yang ditinggalkan, maka sukarlah untuk kita bangkit menghadapi masa hadapan yang tentunya lebih banyak cabaran.."

New Hope..

During 1st Muharram, I've made a promise to myself.. I really need to control myself for I am a muslim, amar makruf nahi mungkar. That's for my hijrah, insyaAllah.

Hope alone isn't enough for determination comes along with the prayer and just then we can hope for the best. After everyhting I've done, trial and error, there's just one solution in which I find very helpful and useful to guide all muslim, that is, never ever leave your kalamullah behind. Quran is the light, nur for all muslim.

Quran is the guidance for us to be strong in facing real life situations and seek for jannah.

And so, I'd like to share this song sings by Yusuf Islam entitled Our Guide is the Quran..

Our guide is the Qur’an
Our Religion is Islam
Five Noble Pillars upholding what is virtuous
To make the Testimony is the base of the Faith, and the Fast, and the Prayer, the Pilgrimage and Charity.

Dusturuna-al Qur’anu
Wa Deenuna-al Islamu

Arkanuhu Jaleelah da’aimun Fadheelah
 Wa hiya ash-Shahadatani, qa’aidatul Iman, wa-as Sawmu, Wa-as Salatu, Wa-al Hajju, Wa-az Zakatu

I Care, I Love..

To the very-very-important-person in my life..

I care
I love
but it's hard to tell

I care
I love
but still a bit of a rebel

I care
I love
All's well that ends well

BIT 4153

What is it with BIT 4153?

Hermm BIT 4153 - Reflections on Teaching & Learning ESL

It's one of the major subjects for my final year in UPSI. huuu pheww I'm already in my finale year!? Oh my~

It's a reflection, isn't it?

Erm, can English remain as a second language in Malaysia? Or is it consider as a foreign language nowadays? These questions keep on hide-and-seek with me. I wonder why..

I'm learning English in UPSI. Teaching English as a Second Language. And yet I've got tongue twisted every time I try to communicate in English as if I'm using tongue-twister. And why is it happening to me? Is it just me or there's another person like me?

No matter what, there's always room for improvement. And I'm still learning. Everyday. And no matter what, I've already be in this track for almost three years. I've to bear with it and always keep on track.

Am I doing reflection?

Ha-ha. That's it, I'm influenced by learning BIT 4153!

I've got BIT 4153 class today.  Quoted on what Dr Goh has said this morning, "You are in the University of Life. Everyone is in the University of Life," make me think wisely. Everyone has already entering a university since we grown up whether we realize it or not.

Ya, he's right.

We are already in the University of Life. We live our life today as life goes on. No matter what, we must do reflection as life goes on each and everyday. We must reflect back on every action we've made. Eyh but then there are reflection-on-action and reflection-in-action. I prefer both..

I really adore Dr Goh. He always acts wisely. He's a wise man after all. Not to forget, Dr Goh is a very calm lecturer I have ever met. He's the one that I know with good-manner-sarcasm. Ha-ha.

Okay, that's not my major point as all I want to say is that I'm now falling in love with Reflection on Teaching & Learning ESL which is conducted by Dr Goh Hock Seng for the time being before we have our beloved Mr Zain on the second half of this semester.

Okay, did I write a long sentence without full stop right up there?? Hemm. Is it a number of mistakes here and there?

Ha-ha. Enough is enough. Or else there might be serious grammatical error here and there till someone pop-up, "Why on earth you've been chosen to be an English teacher???"

Huhuuuuuu. Scary~
